SNIC Sonic Solutions started with a Strong Buy at JMP; target $24
JMP Securities initiates coverage with a Strong Buy rating and a $24 target; firm says the stock is trading at one of the lowest P/E multiples in their software universe, but the co's ROE of 24% and 54% rev growth in CY04 ranks among the highest in their software universe; firm believes the mkt opportunity for the co is going to accelerate as the mass consumer adoption of DVD-R starts to occur, and as the volume of DVD-R units "skyrockets", projected volume growth in units (over 150%) should easily outweigh the negative impact of the annual decline in ASPs (about 30%) for SNIC from its PC OEMs and consumer electronic OEMs in CY04.
