RIYADH, June 7 (Reuters) - Saudi Dairy and Foodstuff Co <2270.SE> (Sadafco) expects its net profit in the three months to end-June to rise by at least 200 percent from the previous three months, its top executive said.
Sadafco's previous ties with a Danish firm caused a damaging boycott of its products by Saudi shoppers in 2006 after the publication in Danish newspapers of controversial cartoons depicting Prophet Mohammad.
Sadafco now expects sales growth to at least double in its April 2009-March 2010 fiscal year compared to the previous year, Chief Executive Matthijs Waltherus told Reuters.
"We are moving in a much better direction ... I'm comfortable that if we don't have other tsunamis we will achieve it," he said in a telephone interview late on Saturday.
Annual profits are expected to come at "the higher end of the single digits", he said. "March-June ... profits may be higher than 10 million riyals," he said.
Sadafco plans to invest up to 60 million riyals in the year to March, 2010 mainly to boost production capacity and to develop its distribution chain.
"Over the next five years, we can double our autonomous capabilities,"
