Sierra Wireless Earns: 4Q Net Earnings Up 46%

VANCOUVER (Dow Jones)--Sierra Wireless Inc. (NasdaqNM:SWIR - News) reported better than expected fourth quarter results as revenues jumped 53.3% and earnings increased 46%.
In a press release, the company said net earnings for the fourth quarter were $1.9 million or 8 cents a share, beating the Thomson First Call (News - Websites) mean estimate of 6 cents.

In the year-earlier period, the company had net earnings of $1.3 million or 8 cents.

Average shares were up significantly in the latest quarter.

Excluding integration costs, net earnings for the fourth quarter increased to $2.8 million or 12 cents verus $1.1 million or 6 cents, excluding restructuring costs and the Metricom recovery, in the fourth quarter of 2002.
