SUNNYVALE, Calif., Mar 11, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Proxim Corporation (PROX) , a leading provider of high-performance wireless local area networking (WLAN) and wireless wide area networking (WWAN) products, today announced a new partner program for North American VARs and wireless deployment partners. Designed to help these partners quickly develop their customer bases and improve their bottom lines, the new program consists of technical training, special product discounts, and online marketing tools available through a new password-protected partner extranet. Proxim's Partner Program will be officially launched this week during a four-city North American VAR Road Show.

Proxim's training program will consist of separate multi-day sessions for its industry-leading ORiNOCO WLAN and Tsunami/Lynx WWAN products. The WLAN training session lasts three days and focuses on applications for healthcare, education, hot spots, guest access, as well as traditional enterprise deployments. The company's WWAN training lasts two days and is devoted to such applications as campus connectivity, last mile access, network redundancy, fiber replacement, and surveillance. Partners are encouraged to take both training sessions since it will allow them to sell Proxim's entire line of high-performance indoor and outdoor wireless networking solutions, something most VARs could not do before.
