UAL pilots say will seek out-of-court recovery for airline


SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 04, 2002 (AFX-Asia via COMTEX) -- UAL Corp's United Air
Lines pilots union said it will work over the next few days towards an
out-of-court recovery for the company.

The union was responding to the Air Transportation Stabilisation Board's
rejection of a 1.8 bln usd loan guarantee for United to back a 2.0 bln loan.

Analysts said the ATSB rejection could force the airline to file for Chapter 11
bankruptcy protection as it struggles to pay off outstanding loans.

In a statement, Pilots Master Executive Council chairman Paul Whiteford said:
"We will work very hard over the next few days with both the company and union
coalition to evaluate the situation and respond as quickly as possible to
achieve an out-of-court recovery for the company."

According to CNBC, which cited the ATSB, the rejection today is not final and
the airline now has the chance to file changes to its business model, in order
to gain approval for its application.

It will have to bring its costs more in-line with its revenue projections, which
the ATSB said was financially unsound, the television channel said.

Earlier today, the ATSB said even if the airline had a more reasonable revenue
forecast, revenues and costs would still not be aligned, even with full benefit
of all the proposed cost reduction initiatives launched in recent months.

"Thus, even with the proceeds of the proposed guaranteed loan, United would face
a high probability of another liquidity crisis within the next few years," the
board said

عموما السهم في الغد سوف يكون مدرسة للضغط واساليب المتخصصين في النايس
