The company defined EBITDA as earnings before interest, investments, taxes, depreciation, amortization, restructuring costs and the loss on sales and retirement of property and equipment.
In a press release Tuesday, the routing services provider said it now expects to report a third-quarter loss of $16 million to $18 million, which is narrower than its prior estimate of a loss of $18 million to $20 million.
Internap expects to report negative EBITDA of $1 million to $2 million for the third quarter, and continues to expect EBITDA profitability for the fourth quarter. In July, the company said it expected negative EBITDA of $2 million to $4 million with cash use of $11 million to $13 million.
With respect to revenue, Internap said its previous guidance issued in July of $33 million remains unchanged.
The company reported negative EBITDA of $20.3 million on revenue of $29.2 million for its year-ago third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2001.
